This group, set up to implement some of the ideas highlighted at the local forums organised by Planed in 2004/5, held a further working party at the Lime Kiln Walk in Robeston Wathen. Further rubbish was collected from the walk and the large items left ready for collection by the council in the near future. The flow of the self cleaning stream was monitored and where necessary adjusted.
The walk was deemed to be useable with care and waterproof footwear, as sections are slippery and very muddy. With the dappled shade from the newly growing leaf canopy, the blue haze and scent of the bluebells and a wealth of birdsong, the visit to the walk on a fine evening in May was a delight.
Large fallen trees have already been removed, but some newly fallen smaller ones will be dealt with on or before the group's next meeting, which will be on Tuesday, June 13, starting at 7 pm.
As well as the Lime Kiln Walk and dealing with any business from recent agendas, the meeting will mainly involve (weather permitting) investigating some of the local footpaths. This should be a very pleasant evening. All members of the community are invited and the event will start at Bank Farm Guest House, Church Lane.
