The final of the Bobby Busters Big Quiz competition was held recently at Merlins Bridge, Haverfordwest.
The 'Big Quiz' was the first joint project to combine Pembrokeshire County Council, Dyfed Powys Police and Texaco.
Pembrokeshire County Council road safety officer, John Gobbi, said: "The aim of the quiz was to make junior school children aware about various dangers, and how to be safe when using the road."
A total of 50 local junior schools took part.
The two finalists were St. Telio RC School, Tenby, and Neyland CP School.
Neyland CP School were the winners, taking home a generous reward of £376 for their school.
The runners-up received £300.
John Gobbi said: "The children received clocks as prizes, and both the teams and their supporters had ice-cream and squash after the quiz."
The sponsors, Texaco, donated £3,000, which was shared between those schools that had successfully qualified from round two upwards in the quiz.
PC Max Bevan took the role of questionmaster.
Subjects of the quiz comprised of: road safety; police; personal safety; maths; general knowledge; spelling.
Said John: "Both schools brought with them bus loads of supporters. The quiz was enjoyed by all and some important road safety messages were put across."
