The A478 road was closed for a shortwhile on Tuesday morning when a digger fell off a low loader after hitting the railway bridge at Moreton, near Wooden.

No one was injured in the accident, which occurred shortly after 8 am.

Police and firefighters from Tenby, the emergency tender from Haverfordwest and the brigade's heavy rescue unit attended the scene and assisted in making the vehicle safe.

A crane was used to recover the digger and trains were stopped at Whitland as a precaution, with passengers being taken to their destination by road.

As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), the police confirmed that the driver of the low loader had been reported for motoring offences.
