Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild members, Kath Klau and Tamzin Lewis, have been honoured with awards from the RNLI Council.
Kath, souvenir secretary, has received a silver badge, while Tamzin, events secretary, a bronze badge.
The awards were presented by Guild president and RNLI Council member Mrs. Rosie Allen-Mirehouse at an unforgettable celebration evening for Guild members at her home, The Hall, Angle, on Thursday last.
A longserving outstanding fundraiser for the RNLI and Guild member for the last 26 years, Jennie McIntosh, who already has her silver badge, was also made a vice-president of Pembroke Guild.
Tamzin, whose home is in Laugharne, joined the Guild in 2000 and has been events secretary since 2002. Tamzin's predecessor was the late, very well respected, Jill Mason.
Kath joined in the '70s as her mother, the late Mrs. Kay Humber, who passed away in 1988, was a Guild member.
Kath's great-grandfather's legacy provided the first motorised lifeboat for Redcar on the North East coast of England and the boat was named the RNLB Louisa Polden after her great-grandmother in 1931.
Pembroke Guild members are proud to congratulate these officers this year and sincerely appreciate their contribution to the team's fundraising in helping to fund the free 24/7 rescue service provided by the RNLI in the UK and N. Ireland.
