Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild and their volunteer collectors for the RNLI annual national house to house collection are astounded by the donations from their supporters recently.

They wish to announce a record amount of £2,743 collected from the residents of Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and outlying villages.

"People's co-operation, as we have knocked all of their doors unannounced, is priceless to us as fund-raisers and particularly to the RNLI," saod a spokesperson.

"Pembroke Guild could not achieve this without this support or without the loyalty and dedication of our regular volunteer collectors each year, who are not Guild members. All can be proud to know that these funds will enable the RNLI to train two crew at HQ in Poole, Dorset, which I feel puts these efforts into perspective; many, many thanks."
