After volunteering as a RNLI fundraiser for over 20 years, Carol Ann Jones of Solva retires from the St Davids fundraising branch.

Carol Ann joined the branch as a way to meet new people after moving to the village of Solva. Over the years she helped plan and run numerous popular fundraising events in the community, as well as volunteering in the station shop where she chatted to visitors about the lifeboats and station.

Carol Ann is pictured receiving her RNLI letter of thanks and 20 year service badge.

Although no longer on the fundraising committee, she will continue to raise awareness to friends and neighbours about RNLI fundraising events.

John Williams, RNLI St Davids Lifeboat Operations Manager, said:

“Our heartfelt thanks go to Carol Ann for giving so much time and enthusiasm over many years of fundraising. As a charity, the RNLI relies on the goodwill of volunteers to raise funds for our lifesaving work. St Davids fundraising branch members will miss Carol Ann’s smile and look forward to welcoming her to our next event.”
