At the annual fun run/walk awards evening last Thursday, these Pembroke RNLI Guild supporters (pictured) were among runners and walkers who raised well in excess of £100 each thanks to the generosity of their supporters.

They were Mr. Tom Scott, Lt. Col. Johnnie Rogers, Mrs. Jennie McIntosh, Wendy Davies and Maz from the Royal Oak.

John Nutting, Royal Oak landlord, received an award for being the local pub which raised the most money, while Franz Klau was honoured for taking part in the eight-mile run for each of the 18 years the event has been held. Also at the evening were Pembroke Dock Cubs and their leader Mrs. Cardy who has brought the group along for 12 years.

The total raised was £4,814, plus some donations, and the presentation evening was indeed a very happy celebration of funds raised.

Mrs. Shirley Wheeler, a vice-president of Pembroke RNLI Guild, and proprietor of the Old Kings Arms Hotel, gave the room in her hotel for the evening and donated the wine. A big thank you goes to her. Thank you also to all of the committee who prepared and donated the buffet, the walk chairman, Mrs. Viv Kerrison and Lt. Col. Johnnie Rogers and the army at Castlemartin who create the venue at the range every year, guest of honour, Wales and Ospreys rugby star Jonathan Thomas, and last but by no means least, everyone who supported the event and advertised it.
