The ever-popular annual fun run/walk organised at Castlemartin Range by the Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild on June 18 raised the excellent sum of over £4,000 for the RNLI.

Recently, the Guild held a presentation evening when awards were made to walk supporters who had collected over £100 each in sponsorship.

Chairman Mrs. Viv Kerrison welcomed and thanked everyone for their outstanding efforts yet again, and Col. Johnnie Rogers and RSM Kevin Bradley for their organisation at Castlemartin each year.

Those who attended the presentation included Col. Johnnie Rogers, Wendy Davies, Keith Dixon, Maggie Bouchier, Franz Klau, Peter Helin, Mrs. Joan Giles, of the Royal Oak Inn, whose husband collected £640, but was unable to attend the preesentation, Mrs. Viv Kerrison, who organised the event and walked with her family, raising £200, RSM Kevin Bradley, and the youngest and most enthusiastic supporter, Jess Braddon-James - a future lifeboat crew member maybe! Collectively, they raised over £2,000 for the cause. Mrs. Joan Giles presented a photograph of the new Tenby Tamar class lifeboat, the Haydn Miller, to each of them. Pembroke Ladies Guild had 'all hands on deck', as usual, producing a buffet, along with wine, in appreciation of everyone's commitment. Next year, the walk will take place in September, with a date yet to be decided.

Another interesting fund-raising event taking place in October will see the souvenir stand selling Christmas cards in Pembroke Town Hall.
