TWO local stalwart supporters of the RNLI were amongst a number of volunteers recognised at a special event last week for their dedicated service to the charity.
In fact, no fewer than 25 lifeboat crew members and fundraisers from across Wales received awards at a ceremony held at the Guildhall in Swansea on Friday.
One of them, Pam Mortimer, of the Saundersfoot branch, received a Bar to her Gold Badge.
Pam has been an invaluable supporter and key part of Saundersfoot branch for over 25 years. She has held a variety of committee roles, including chair, for this past quarter century.
Not a lady to sit still, Pam has only just retired as souvenir secretary.
Joining her at the awards was Wyn Griffiths, of Tenby Station branch, who was presented with a Gold Badge.
Wyn has been involved with Tenby lifeboat station since 1994. He has held a number of roles both in operational management as lifeboat operations manager and more recently adding treasurer to his responsibility as a deputy launching authority.
In his role as deputy launching authority, he has had to take the call to launch the boat on many occasions at all times of the day and night. Dedication which is much appreciated.
The awards were presented by outgoing RNLI chairman Charles Hunter-Pease.
