Police are offering a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man allegedly involved in a robbery outside Crymych Comprehensive School last week.

The robbery occurred on Tuesday, February 18, when a 16-year-old worker, who had left J. K. Lewis' Grocery Shop, was confronted by the man in question.

The man is described as a white male, approximately 40 years of age, 6'3 - 6'4" tall, with shoulder length frizzy and unkempt dark hair which was greying. He was unshaven with a light beard.

He was wearing an old knee-length, green, Barbour-style coat which was showing signs of wear and was almost mustard in colour. It had gold coloured buttons with large patchlike front pockets.

He was also wearing black trousers with heavy work boots and loose laces.

He is believed to have an English accent.

At the time he was in possession of a small black handled kitchen knife, which he used to inflict injuries on the victim, before stealing items which had just been purchased from the grocery shop. The victim sustained superficial cuts to the abdomen and leg and was taken to Withybush Hospital, but later discharged after treatment.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, which occurred between 9.15 and 9.30 am, and they are appealing for any person who was in the area at the material time or who has information about a person of similar description, to contact Haverfordwest Police Station on (01437) 763355.

It is emphasised that this incident is not linked to the school in question.
