A major resurfacing project is to be undertaken by Pembrokeshire County Council at Narberth's Church Street, Water Street and Picton Place, County Clr. Wynne Evans has announced.
"These three streets are in dire need of this type of work and I have been in regular talks and meetings to secure funding for this," he said.
"I am delighted to now be able to announce this is to go ahead. This I am sure will enhance these streets, as well as benefit the Narberth Museum, other local businesses in those streets, as well as residents."
Clr. Evans continued: "Work starts on October 21, and I have already advised some residents of the disruptions and road closures that will happen, but all agree it will be well worth it.
"I now intend to make formal representation for two further projects, Mill Lane and the Bentley Villas area of Narberth, hopefully to start next spring."
