A reception has been held at County Hall in Carmarthen for headteachers who are retiring from schools in Carmarthenshire. The reception was hosted by council chairman, Clr. Dewi Enoch, and attended by executive board member for education and children's services, Clr. Ieuan Jones, director of education, Vernon Morgan, head of standards and quality, Wyn Williams, and head of school support and governance, Bryan Stephens. Clr. Enoch paid tribute to the headteachers for their work on behalf of the children of the county. Mr. Morgan said he was glad to have the opportunity to thank the head teachers, for their contribution. Clr. Ieuan Jones also thanked the headteachers for their work in the county. The heads who are retiring are Mr. Tom Jones, of Blaenau Primary School, Mr. Julian Jones, of Llandeilo Primary School, Mrs. H. Nicholls, of Llanmiloe Primary School, Mr. Andy Eynon, of Pontyberem Primary School, Mrs. Liz Davies, of Ysgol y Babanod, Felinfoel, and Mrs. Daphne Evans, of Model School.
