President Jean Watson welcomed celebrated broadcaster and best selling author Malcolm Stacey (right) to a meeting of the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland recently. Now retired from broadcasting, Malcolm lives in Tenby, and was accompanied on his visit by past president Don Ramsay (left), of the Rotary Club of Tenby. In his amusing and interesting address, Malcolm gave an insight into some of the tricks of the trade which take place on the other side of the camera. During his distinguished career, he made more than 8,000 radio and television appearances. He began his career in Fleet Street, before moving on to the Northern Echo in the North East and then to BBC Radio Leeds. He became a senior reporter on Radio Four's 'You and Yours' programme and produced Radio Four's Checkpoint programme with investigative reporter Roger Cook, as well as dozens of other projects with the corporation. Since leaving the BBC four years ago, he has concentrated on writing books, with several best sellers, and daily columns for his website 'ShareCrazy.com', of which he was a founder member. Malcolm is a pianist, occasional entertainer and lecturer on finance. Members look forward with interest to his next visit.
