A public meeting called to discuss proposed electoral changes for the community of St. Mary Out Liberty was very well attended on Tuesday night. At the outset of the meeting at New Hedges Village Hall, the chairman outlined the proposed changes to those present, the implications of the changes, and the possible outcome. It was the unanimous feeling of those present that they were very happy with the current situation. They felt that the existing Community Council of St. Mary Out Liberty was doing a good job and they did not wish to see any changes that may well result in a future downward spiral of the service and the facilities that St. Mary Out Liberty now enjoys. The chairman advised the meeting that the community council would be seeking a meeting with Pembrokeshire County Council to put forward the case for St. Mary Out Liberty. He also stressed the importance for people to write to the county council electoral department, or to the clerk of St. Mary Out Liberty Community Council at Kai-tor, Ragged Staff, Saundersfoot, to record their protest and their wish to remain in St. Mary Out Liberty Community Council area. The chairman closed the meeting by thanking the so many local people for attending and showing that they are interested in the future of their community. There may well be future meetings to update the public, which will be advertised in the local press.
