A search was launched during the early hours of Saturday morning after a woman was reported missing in Pendine.

The 57-year-old woman from Cwmbran disappeared from outside the Pendine Beach Hotel where she had been visiting with her companion and friends, who were staying in the village.

Her companion raised the alarm when they failed to find her after she had left the hotel to get some air at approximately 9.15 pm on Friday evening.

Coastguards from Tenby and Laugharne joined police in the search from Ginst Point to Amroth and inland as far as Red Roses, while an aerial search was carried out by a helicopter from RAF Chivenor.

The search was called off at approximately 7 am when the woman turned up safe and well at the caravan where the group were staying.
