Emergency repairs to the Carew Millpond Causeway began on Monday and will continue into the new year.
The work to consolidate part of the Causeway follows the annual inspection and report by the engineer appointed under the Reservoir Act.
A temporary footpath closure order means that there will be no access to the Mill end of the Causeway while repairs are made. However, the millpond path from the picnic site will be open up to the Causeway, and the path from the main road leading to the mill will also remain open.
Over the Christmas-New Year period, the Causeway will be re-opened allowing walkers to complete the popular round walk. Further repairs will be carried out in January when the Causeway will again be closed.
The contractors are Thyssens and the supervision engineers are W. S. Atkins.
