Since its inception in November 2011, Renaissance have brought the highest quality entertainment to these shores and, in doing so, have already raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The brainchild of local 'lad' Nicky Lloyd, Renaissance are able to guarantee the finest nights out because there is no compromising on standards and value for money.

Coming up on Saturday, July 20, is 'Renaissance Summer' and Nicky declared: "After the amazing success of Renaissance N.Y.E. on New Year's Eve, we are confident that 'Renaissance Summer' will be bigger and better, bolder and more beautiful than ever before. We hire the finest poster and ticket designer in Darren Coates and the most visionary events designer in Cath Graham, who between them ensure that everything from the tickets to the venue are spectacular.

"We have a live band who are the talk of the county and certainly one of the busiest and most popular bands on the circuit, The Collective. With a new line-up that now includes local troubadour Dave Badham as frontman and a set list that will fill the dance floor coupled with the most amazing DJ set lists playing anthemic floor-filler tunes from the what we perceive to be the golden era of music - 1965 to 1995 (and a couple of modern classics chucked in for good measure), you are absolutely assured of the best night out of the summer.

"As if that wasn't enough, ticket holders are being invited, through Facebook and the Renaissance website, to pick some of their favourite floor-fillers and to send in dedications and requests in advance of the event.

"Renaissance have also set up a Renaissance Tenby You-Tube channel and much of the summer event will be filmed for all to see thereafter."

The motivation behind the Renaissance concept is not profit and for that reason ticket prices are kept low and the finest, most talented, folk are hired to help ensure that the Renaissance experience is a happy one.

It has also proved to be something of a reunion, with friends and friends of friends meeting up and reminiscing to classic tunes.

The extremely dedicated local Cancer Research UK fundraisers, Geoff and Pat Somner, are always present and Renaissance thank them for all of their hard work.

'Early Bird' tickets are available now and until June 27 at the bargain price of £6.50. Then from June 28 ticket prices revert to the usual £7.50, but should anyone choose to risk missing out on this amazing experience and leave it until the night in the hope that there will still be tickets available, then paying on the door will be £10.

So folks, support these efforts to bring top entertainment to our lovely town, support Cancer Research UK and support the De Valence Renaissance.
