IN the corner of Front Street, Pembroke Dock, next to Y Cerrig Glas pub, is a reminder of a bygone era.

The West Wales Maritime Museum holds relics of a famous Fishguard lifeboat used to rescue sailors from a Dutch vessel in 1920. The crew members were awarded medals for bravery.

The Charterhouse lifeboat was built in 1908 and was one of the first four designed to use a petrol engine.

Volunteers are working on the hull and there is a further exhibition and information in the museum.
