It may be 2007, but Oakwood Theme Park is taking a trip back to the 1990s and is calling on past participants of the cult classic Crystal Maze game show to get in touch and relive their experience at the last remaining Cyberdrome in the UK. Just under 500 people took part in Crystal Maze, which became Channel 4's highest watched programme and Oakwood is offering them free entry to their Crystal Maze Cyberdrome in Pembrokeshire. During its heyday between 1990 and 1993, when eccentric presenter Richard O'Brien hosted the show, there were five Cyberdromes across the UK and one in Japan, giving Crystal Maze fans the opportunity to explore the gameshow's famous four zones of Aztec, Medieval, Futuristic and Industrial, for themselves. Paddy McNamara, managing director of Oakwood, said: "The Crystal Maze Cyberdrome remains a popular attraction for children and adults alike. Adults who remember watching the show want to experience it with their friends, and they also like getting the younger ones to take part as it's a way of getting them to use their brains and many of them remember the children's television show of Jungle Run which was based on Crystal Maze. "We would love to hear from past participants of Crystal Maze and have them visit us at the Cyberdrome for a celebration of the programme that was hailed as the most mind-boggling game show of our time." Past participants should call (01834) 891373 or email [email protected]">[email protected]. Proof that they were a participant on the show will be required. The Cyberdrome is located at The Canaston Bowl, Canaston Bridge, Narberth. Fast facts on the Crystal Maze
