The community of Saundersfoot is celebrating after being recognised at a prestigious national awards ceremony in the British Museum recently.
The Regency Hall, which is located in Saundersfoot, narrowly missed out on the top prize, coming second in the 'Rural Placemaking Award' category.
PLANED officer Liz Thomas, who nominated the project, said: "It is great to see the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteers being acknowledged at a national level."
The Placemaking Awards recognise projects, plans, people and organisations that are making places better, which the Regency Hall is definitely doing.
Hall manager, Chiara Hare was there to accept the Highly Commended award on behalf of the Regency Hall and was accompanied by Liz Thomas and a representative from the Old Stables, Dale.
The Old Stables came first in their category, Best Use of Heritage in Placemaking Award.
Twenty-eight judges were tasked to shortlist over 200 UK-wide entrants down to 82, before deciding on the actual winners.
Richard Garlick, chair of the judging panel and editor of Planning magazine, said: "It was a challenge to choose winners from so many outstanding entries, which demonstrate hard work and innovation from entrants from all corners of the UK."
Both projects have received funding from PLANED through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
