Chevron has funded the publication of an illustrated guide to the murals in Pembroke Town Hall.

The murals, by George and Jeanne Lewis, were completed in 2009 and present a full history of Pembroke over 10,000 years, from the Stone Age to the early 20th century, where they finish at the Second World War.

In total, there are some 28 panels, each seven by four feet, which occupy the entrance hall and the first floor landing of the Town Hall. The murals are a gift from the artists to the town of Pembroke.

George Lewis and Gene Ryecroft have written the illustrated guide.

Jane James, public affairs manager at Chevron's Pembroke refinery, said: "There is a strong artistic history in Pembroke and we are pleased to be able to help spread the word about both this heritage and the history of Pembroke itself."
