The British Red Cross shop in Pembroke Dock is in urgent need of donations. The charity shop relies on donations from members of the public in order to raise valuable Red Cross funds to help vulnerable people in crisis in the UK and abroad.

Sarah Gibson, Red Cross shop manager at the shop, said: "Please drop off a bag of unwanted items at the Red Cross shop today - clothing, discarded gifts, housewares, books and DVDs can all be converted into income for the Red Cross.

"We encourage everyone who donates items to us to gift aid them. It's simple to do and means that for every £1 worth of stock you donate, we get an extra 25p.

"We're also looking for volunteers to give a few hours a week to help out in the shop. Our existing volunteers find the work very rewarding and it's very flexible so you can fit it around other commitments."

The Red Cross shop in Pembroke Dock can be found at Unit 15, St. Govans Shopping Centre, Dimond Street, or contacted on 01646 687135.

The shop also accepts second-hand textiles (like linen or curtains etc). If they are in good condition, they can be sold in the shop. If they are no longer useable, they can be sold to textile merchants, thereby still raising money for the Red Cross.

The Red Cross runs a number of services in the area. These include emergency response - where trained volunteers respond immediately to major emergencies both at home and overseas, helping people cope in crisis situations - and medical equipment loan - providing short-term loans of medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, for people with a disability or illness.
