Visitors to Pembrokeshire Record Office are currently able to enjoy a small exhibition in its entrance foyer featuring Fishguard Harbour in its early years.

Created as part of the office's ongoing exhibitions programme, it has used a variety of source material such as old photographs, maps, plans, company documents, census material and so on.

It thus provides a small insight into the range of material available to researchers at the Record Office.

Featured are the men who built the port, the first visit of the Cunard liner Mauretania, the ferry SS St. Patrick (sunk in 1941) and a short timeline highlighting the development of the port.

Pembrokeshire Record Office is situated at the Castle, Haverfordwest. For more details, 'phone 01437 763707.
