A record-breaking £1,400 was raised by Stackpole VC School at its Christmas fair recently.

The event was organised by the village school’s active PTA and was held at Pembroke Town Hall which was packed out all day with shoppers and children enjoying the festive and fun atmosphere.

The Town Hall was bustling, with smells of hot Christmas punch enticing the customers out of the cold November wind.

There was a wide variety of stalls and children’s activities including local businesses and craft-makers, delicious homemade cakes, the legendary human fruit machine and of course, a visit from Santa himself, who took time out of his busy schedule to the delight of the children.

Stackpole VC School PTA chair, Mrs. Sophie Buckley, said: “What a fantastic day for Stackpole School. We are overwhelmed by the support we received t and the sum raised has broken last year’s record.

“This is an amazing boost to our funds. As a PTA, we work closely with the teaching staff to identify equipment and resources that enhances the learning experiences of the pupils.

“For instance, this year we have been able to provide funding for a wide range of resources.

“This includes an amazing musical play structure and improvements to the school’s extensive gardens as well as computer equipment which hugely enhances the children’s IT learning experience both in school and at the ICT club.

“So I would just like to say a massive thank you to all who helped to organise the fair and host stalls, and to everyone who came along to join in the fun.”
