FBM Holidays, the Tenby-based holiday rental agency is celebrating after posting record results for July in terms of acquisitions to their holiday let portfolio.
A wave of second homeowners with properties all over the county have flocked to the doors of FBM this year as the company continues to record increasingly high booking figures with a sustained year-round audience of holidaymakers, all keen to holiday in West Wales.
However, July has proved somewhat of a purple patch for the lettings agency, with a record number of new owners signing up their properties to utilise FBM’s services.
Encouraged by what is a buoyant time for UK staycations and a high-interest year for Pembrokeshire due to recent high-level interest in the county as the premier destination to visit, second homeowners and property investors alike have signed up to grab a slice of record increases in bookings the firm is currently receiving.
Company partner, Tim Brace said: “July has really been the icing on the cake so far, in terms of 2018. We have had a bumper year on bookings and instructions, which go hand in hand together.
“The ‘New Business’ team have worked really hard and have secured us some fantastic offerings for this year and through to 2019, and we as a firm are seeing huge increases in enquiries and bookings for our product.”
Holiday bookings for the firm have risen between 22 per cent to 35 per cent from Q1-Q2 in 2018, with an overall annual increase of around 19-20 per cent expected to be achieved by year end. Whilst the UK is seeing an increase in staycations this year due to exchange rates and Brexit uncertainly, FBM are recording booking figures over and beyond the national UK average of around 8 per cent.
This real-time boost to the Pembrokeshire economy is also set to continue for the next few years, so increases over the next 24 months are set to continue, and FBM Holidays feel they are in prime position to be able to capitalise on this.
