A number of events are lined up in the next couple of months to raise funds for the Shalom House Trust in St. Davids. They start on September 23 with the Shalom annual lunch at Letterston Memorial Hall (organised by Fishguard and Goodwick Shalom fund-raisers). Contact Rachel Davies on 01348 873292 for details. This will be followed on October 3 by a Shalom House Open Day, 10 am to 2 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm, while on October 6, Côr Dewi Sant will be Singing on World Palliative Care Day. The event, organised by Margaret Burnett, gets underway at St. David's Cathedral at 7.30 pm, and is in the capable hands of musical director, John S. Davies MBE. Accompanist will be Alexander Mason, organist and master of the choristers at the cathedral. Tickets (£10 and £7, with children under 12 free) are available at the door and St. Davids Bookshop, The Pebbles, St. Davids. On the same day there will be another Open Day at Shalom House, followed by a third one on October 17, both also from 10 am to 2 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Moving into December, the event is Light up a Life at Shalom House. Again this has been organised by Margaret Burnett and takes place at 8 pm on the seventh of the month.
