PEMBROKESHIRE Rural Outreach (PRO) has appointed Mrs. Joan Evans as its project co-ordinator to deliver an innovative project, raising awareness of the symptoms of stress and other rural stress issues to groups and individuals who work closely with the farming sector in Pembrokeshire.

Mrs. Evans, who has lived and farmed in Pembrokeshire for 37 years, will be available to any farming, rural or community groups to give informal talks, presentations with the aid of a video called 'Help at Hand' offering information, help and appropriate sign posting.

Mrs. Evans, who previously lectured at Pembrokeshire College, has been a past chairman, secretary and founder member of Pembs WFU and has been employed part-time by PRO by accessing funds from WCVA's Rural Stress Grant Scheme.

Joan has delivered one presentation to church clergy and other presentations are planned. She is keen to work with as many groups as possible to highlight stress related issues and the work of PRO and can be contacted for further information about the project by writing to PRO at the FUW Offices, 3 North Street, Haverfordwest.
