The issue of domestic abuse was highlighted at the recent AGM of the Magistrates Association at the Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran.
Jenny Hart, domestic abuse co-ordinator for Pembrokeshire, was a guest speaker at the event, together with her counterpart in Carmarthen, Natalie Hardess, and Helen Williams from Hafan Cymru,
There were about 30 magistrates in attendance, along with the Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed, Sara Edwards, who is also president of NSPCC Cardiff.
Jenny meets regularly with the SDVC (Special Domestic Violence Court) panel of magistrates at Haverfordwest.
Along with her colleagues, she gave powerful presentations about the devastating impact domestic abuse has on the family.
They also presented an update on the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence legislation - and services available for people who are or have been experiencing domestic abuse.
If you or anyone you know is experiencing any form of abuse, you can get help and support from the ‘Live Fear Free’ helpline on 0808 80 10 800.
