Pembrokeshire County Council have released a revised plan proposing improvements to the railings and the planting bed in Tenby's High Street.
The railings were erected as part of the street's enhancement scheme, but town councillors voiced concerns over their height, as they believed they would restrict the sea view of people sitting on the benches.
However, they are now concerned that the new design of the railings might be potentially dangerous for young children.
"I think the railings design should be looked at again with the safety aspect in mind, as I think that it could be dangerous to children who might be able to slip through them," commented Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
"It's a bit of a Catch 22, as the railings are designed so that the view can be enjoyed, but obviously we must consider the safety aspect first," added Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter.
