JULY 3 saw the culmination of three years' work and four successful trial broadcasts for Haven FM's Keri Jones, of Tenby. Together with fellow directors, Mary Megarry, of Pentlepoir, and Jason Bryant, Keri delivered Haven FM's licence application personally to the Radio Authority's office in Holborn, London.
In addition to the necessary programme, financial and technical details, the team also handed over six large files containing over 1,500 letters, e-mails and faxes of support.
"We have been truly overwhelmed," said Keri, "by not only the volume of letters received, from all parts of the county, but also the wonderful comments in the letters. Thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to write in."
The Radio Authority will now assess Haven FM's bid for the licence, together with other applications received - with a decision due later this year.
