Crowds came out for the annual Pembroke Dock Quins Carnival and Fete on Saturday, and despite a damp start, so did the sunshine in the end too.

The fancy dress and procession assembled at Albion Square, and set off at 1.30 pm, with the parade following the traditional route down Bush Street, Meyrick Street, up Dimond Street, down Water Street, along London Road and finishing up at the Quins Rugby Ground.

This year, the Carnival Committee had introduced 'Splash Zones' on the Barclays Bank corner and The Prince of Wales corner.

The main procession was led by cars of honoured guests, the Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Peter Kraus and his wife, along with main sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Harris.

Following the guests were Carnival Queen Ella Lewis and her attendants Erin Mcintyre and Chloe Smith.

Also featured in the procession were a 100-year-old steam engine and trailer, vintage tractors, the Pembroke Borough Band, Samba Doc Band, Vibe School of Dance; along with several floats.

In the float competition, first place went to the Naval Club and their 'Back from the War' entry, with the Quins taking second place for the Olympics themed effort.

The fancy dress competition saw Patsy Bentley and Paul Griffiths, of Apley Lodge Residential Home, and their take on 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' take first prize, while Lola-Mae Lyn Jones as the Queen of Hearts came second, and Miss Jubilee third.

The fun and games continued into the evening, with live music from Horizontal Favours keeping the atmosphere going.
