There was a wealth of festivities in Narberth over the Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

On Thursday night, the town’s Mayor, Clr. Glinys Meredydd lit the Jubilee Beacon on behalf of the town; then on Sunday there was wonderful turn out for the Jubilee Party at the Queen’s Hall, which turned out to be a fantastic occasion that couldn't have happened without the help and support from the whole community, with a massive thanks going to the venue’s wonderful volunteers (pictured) who worked extremely hard all day to bring the town such a fantastic event.

County Councillor for Narberth’s Urban ward, Marc Tierney who attednded, has praised the Queen’s Hall for putting on a special party, as families came together to mark the Jubilee.

Party-goers formed an orderly line as they queued in the rain to mark the special occasion.

A choir of children from Tavernspite CP School took to the stage – as part of a day of live music and entertainment, food and drink.

Clr. Tierney said: “It was great to see so many people come together to celebrate over the weekend. The turnout was fantastic.

“I want to thank everyone who was involved behind the scenes, preparing for this special day, so that Narberth could join the rest of the country in marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.”
