On Saturday, December 20, at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, TidyLike Records will host an event showcasing the very best young music and film-makers helping to celebrate 50 years of live music at the Queen's Hall.

For the second time, TidyLike have joined forces with Pembrokeshire College's national diploma in media production students.

The result is an interactive DVD of 15 of the area's finest bands strutting their stuff on the stage of the Queen's Hall.

The students' brief was to devise and produce an exciting showcase of the local talent.

TidyLike co-ordinator, Robin Benson, said of the polished and professional looking DVD: "We will be extremely proud to display the DVD to a wide industry audience. We salute the amazing technical talents and professional manner in which they conducted themselves throughout."

"We really enjoyed the chance to show our skills and it will benefit us professionally in the future," enthused Jon Gau, one of the students involved in the project.

Course tutor Chris Rees elaborated: "From using five cameras at each of the three gigs, to editing, to designing the cover and DVD authoring, the students worked in a truly professional and focused manner throughout this three-month project."

Another student, Grant Mathias, said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing our work on the big screen at the launch party at the Queen's Hall on Saturday, December 20, where some of the bands we also filmed will be playing."

The gig will feature sensational seasonal sets, with the biggest band in West Wales, headliners Johnny Action Finger, playing their last gig as a six-piece before they go into hiding for six months. JAF will be back on the scene in May with a new additional member and a fresh new sound.

The night will also serve up a delicious diverse support with something for everyone's taste. Local stoner rock heroes Sessio Head, a newly-reformed and back with a bang Supergene, experimental Clowns Obama 3 and Narberth's very own Volplus.

TidyLike will also launch on the night their 29th album, "paid a poeni am y..", their best of the west compilation.

The event is a fund-raiser for the fantastic work TidyLike do in the community, promoting, producing local music, training young people in music and circus.

Students from the TidyLike Rock School will be assisting in the stage management and running of the event.
