Over the summer, school pupils have been working with the Darwin Centre for Biology and Medicine. A-Level and Key Stage 4 pupils have been investigating marine creatures living in Pembrokeshire and why some of them have the ability to light up? The biochemistry behind the light production has important medical applications. The pupils are working on research projects at the Darwin Centre lab in Milford Haven. This work is part of the ‘Discovering living light project’ supported by the Wellcome Trust. The project is aimed at anyone who is 16 or over and in education. Free advanced biology workshops at the research lab, are also being offered to local school groups. For further information, contact Dr. Valerie Morse on [email protected]
