Youngsters at a Pembrokeshire primary school have been given pedometers to encourage them to walk to school.
Pupils at Monkton Priory School have been allocated the walking counters thanks to a grant from Chevron.
It is hoped the pedometers will encourage children to exercise and improve their health by walking to school.
It is also hoped the move will cut down on traffic congestion outside the school during the 'school run'.
The school has embarked on a travel plan looking at ways of making the community safe for walking and, together with Pembrokeshire County Council, is developing a bid for a Safe Routes in the community grant from the Welsh Assembly.
