Pupils at a south Pembrokeshire primary school were served up a taste of Italy recently.

Instead of their normal winter fare, the youngsters at St. Florence Church in Wales School tucked into a lunch of lasagne, potato wedges, carrot and cucumber batons with breadsticks, apple juice and a choc chip muffin for their pudding.

Their taste of warmer climes came courtesy of the school's cook, Alison Osbourne, who wanted to give the children a special treat to brighten up the dreary month of January.

Lennie the Leek, Pembrokeshire County Council's school meals mascot, was on hand to see the children enjoy their meal.
