Over 500 school children from across Pembrokeshire discovered the joys of a Victorian Christmas this month.

The evocative Yule-time was served up as part of Scolton Manor's Christmas programme for schools.

Now the County Museum, Scolton was the real-life home of a Victorian gentry family in the 19th century and so provided the perfect backdrop for learning about a Victorian Christmas.

While staff dressed up in historic costumes, pupils made Christmas decorations to take home and also enjoyed a Victorian cookery demonstration complete with tasters!

The event ended with a carol service around the grand Christmas tree that occupies pride of place in the manor's hall.
