After a recent meeting on the enhancement scheme in Tenby between members of the town council and officers from Pembrokeshire County Council, it has been proposed that plans for the scheme be displayed in the Mayor's Parlour so that members of the public can view them and offer suggestions on the development. Work on the second phase of the scheme started on Monday, and is scheduled to be completed two weeks before Christmas. However, funding applications will soon be going forward for the remainder of the enhancement and PCC officers will welcome suggestions for what is thought to be the most controversial aspect of the scheme, the plans for Tudor Square. Suggestions already discussed include a turning area at the bottom of the Square and the introduction of limited waiting, and pay and display parking -although town councillors present at the enhancement meeting felt that some form of short-term parking should be retained, in addition to the proposed disabled bays and taxi rank/loading bays. Clr. Mrs. Kerry Durham said at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council that the discussions with PCC officers on the enhancement scheme were "very positive." "I think it would be very beneficial to display the proposed plans for the remainder of the enhancement scheme in the Mayor's Parlour, so members of the public could come forth and make constructive comments which we would take on board," she continued, with Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas adding: "The scheme is for the people of Tenby, so we'd most certainly welcome their comments."
