Staff from two Pembrokeshire pubs swapped their jobs pulling pints to get behind the wheel of an amazing array of vehicles in a charity driving challenge at the weekend. Kathryn Evans, Emily Johanson, Liah Beynon, Celine Prado from Tenby's Lifeboat Tavern and Sarah Casey, of The Bar, Neyland, took part in the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund Mid and West Wales Ladies Driving Challenge at Pembrey racetrack on Saturday. The event raised £5,586 for the FSNBF, with the five girls themselves raising £818.12 of that in sponsorship. "It took three hours to complete and we had to drive a variety of emergency vehicles, from fire engines to 4x4 off-roaders and even articulated dumper trucks, to pass the challenge," said Kathryn. "It was a fun day out and an excellent opportunity to drive such vehicles. We would recommend other ladies to take part when they do it again next year. "We are really glad we raised money for this fund as it provides the services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families."
