PRP Training has celebrated learner achievements for VQ Day

VQ Day is being led by independent education foundation, Edge, and aims to recognise the success of millions of vocational learners.

This year, celebrations at PRP Training represent part of what is the biggest ever celebration of vocational achievement in the UK.

On June 24, current trainees attended an awards ceremony at Tudor Lodge in Jameston where they received recognition of what they have achieved so far in their programmes.

As well as achievement awards, including key skills, work taster, business administration, childcare, customer service, IT, Clait and hairdressing, special recognition awards were handed to trainees in recognition of commitment to training, excellent standards of work and the progression made.

These went to: Sasha Erasmus, Jade Laville, Jodie Price and Mathew Hay.

There was also an adult learner award for hard work, commitment to training and positive attitude. This went to Darren Briggs.

Following the awards, the trainees and guests enjoyed a buffet.

Over the past year, over 100 trainees have attended a Skill Build programme, studying vocational qualifications at PRP Training, as well as over three-million nationwide.

Since January, 28 learners who have completed their learning programmes have gone into employment or into a paid placement to continue their training at a higher level, which shows the value of vocational training in preparing trainees for employment.

The Skill Build scheme offers both the chance to job taste in a variety of work environments and the opportunity to work towards an NVQ Level 1 qualification in their chosen occupational area.

Students can also progress onto Level 2 NVQ and gain qualifications alongside their NVQs.

At the training academy in Tudor Lodge, they also have a live hair salon and a training kitchen, which is open as a restaurant on weekends.
