Local councillors have welcomed a reduction to the speed limit on one of Tenby’s roads.
Members of Tenby Town Council were informed at their meeting on Tuesday night, that Pembrokeshire County Council had been successful in obtaining grant funding from the Welsh Government for the introduction of a number of 20 mph limits in the region of schools in the county, and were proposing that a 20 mph limit be introduced on St. John’s Hill and also Greenhill Road, in the vicinity of St. Teilo’s School.
Some minor works would also be carried out to enhance road markings and modify the junctions at Greenhill Avenue and the top of St. John’s Hill.
“These improvements will reduce the crossing distance at both locations for pedestrians and also increase visibility,” explained the county council’s senior traffic engineer, Ben Blake, in a letter to the town council.
“Well done to PCC on this, as there has been a problem with speeding there for some years,” remarked Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.
