A Pembrokeshire hotel has been named as one of the best in the UK.
The annual Top 50 Boutique Hotels list, run by William Reed’s The Morning Advertiser, revealed that the Grove of Narberth has made the cut.
Coming in at number 49 on the list, which is sponsored by Taylors of Harrogate and Bibendum Wine, the Grove is a restored Jacobean mansion that was extended in the 19th Century.
Until 2007, the Grove had been left derelict, before being bought and transformed by owners Neil and Zoe Kedward.
Set in 26 acres, the hotel is surrounded by ancient oaks and beech trees, with views to the Preseli Hills.
There are thirteen bedrooms in the main house, as well as The Longhouse, which contains four suites, Poyer’s Cottage, which has two suites, and the Herb Cottages, containing an additional six suites.
The hotel’s restaurant, the Fernery Restaurant, is run by executive chef Douglas Balish and offers eight tasting menus, paired with wines selected by head sommelier Alexios Stasinopoulos.
There is also a more relaxed dining area named the Artisan Rooms, overlooking the garden terrace and apple trees.
Chris Lowe, group director of hospitality and manufacturing at William Reed, commented: “We’re delighted to be revealing this fantastic new list and see such strong movement in this year’s Top 50 Boutique Hotels.
“With staycations continuing to be a focus for Britons, it is encouraging to see such strong regional presence this year and such a wide range of unique hotel experiences to enjoy.”
