Sir,

I am writing in response to the previous two letters published regarding 'things for young people to do' in Tenby.

I am the senior youth worker at Tenby Youth Centre and, as from October, I have been working with a group of young people to develop new projects for young people in and around the Tenby area.

The Youth Club is currently running Monday to Thursday evenings 6.30-9 pm. During these Youth Club evening,s there are many projects being run, such as cooking, hair and beauty, sports, music and much more.

There are also other projects running throughout the week, such as Mondays, 5-6 pm, the Duke of Edinburgh Award; Wednesdays, 4-6 pm, film club; Thursdays, 4-6 pm, youth council. The Friday Night Project will be starting back on Friday, November 26, and will run until Easter.

The project will run at Tenby Youth Centre, 6-10 pm, with the first Friday being a whistle party.

There is a group of young people who are currently in the process of planning and accessing funding to run a skate project on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at the Youth Centre and around Tenby. A group of young people and myself will be going out into the town a couple of Saturday afternoons to speak with young people about some things they would like to see.

Any young people who have any ideas or a project they would like to see being run, please feel free to call in at the Youth Centre and show me. I will be happy to support them and do my best to get the project up and running.

If anyone would like more information about any of the above projects or information about the Youth Centre and trips we run, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Leah Walker,

Senior youth worker,

Tenby Youth Centre.
