St. Johns Flower Festival committee have now (almost) completed the programme for the four days of their annual Daffodil Festival, covering the weekend nearest to St. David's Day.

The festival will open on Friday, February 27, with Tenby Infants School singing in the sanctuary from 10.30 am.

Meanwhile, the Welsh cake makers will be 'on duty'. Later in the afternoon, the junior school will be entertaining visitors, from about 1.30 pm, and at 2.30 pm the Pembrokeshire Network Rally will have their service, which will be followed by tea in the large schoolroom.

Mrs. Mollie Neate, who is co-ordinating the tea arrangements, will be grateful for offers of help, for making cakes and/or sandwiches and for help in serving.

At 8 pm on Friday, the relatively new local choir 'Quay Notes' will give a concert. Tickets are available now, at £3 each. Margaret Day and Kay Apps will have tickets for sale.

On Saturday, the chapel will again be open from 10.30 am and a coffee morning will be held in the lounge from 10-12 noon. The Tenby and District Band will be playing in the Sanctuary from 10.30 am. This event was a great success last year, with the band playing a wide selection of music which got everyone's feet tapping!

At 2.30 pm St. Mary's hand-bell ringers will give a concert, and at approximately 3.30 pm Irish dancers will give a performance. In the evening, there will be the 'Noson Lawen'. Fuelled by Ian's and Sue's cawl, the chapel members and friends will have a merry evening of entertainment, co-ordinated by Ron Hurlow. This will take place in the large schoolroom. Tickets are available at £3 per head from Margaret Day.

Sunday worship begins, as usual, at 10.30 am. It will have a Celtic theme. This will be followed by a Faith lunch, open to all at worship, and free of charge.

At 2 pm, the Mezin Quartet will be giving a concert in celebration of the lives of those who have died, many of whom will be commemorated in the 'in memorium' daffodil posies tied along the pews and communion rails in the sanctuary (these can be purchased from Kay Apps for £2).

The Cymanfa Ganu begins at 8 pm. This is a hugely popular event, which gives everyone in the congregation a chance to sing some of the most famous Welsh hymns tunes.

Organist will be Dr. John Harrison, conductor Graham Stubbs. There will be individual items from St. Mary's Choir, the Cymrodorion Ladies and Tenby Male Choir. This is a free event.

On Monday evening, St. David's Day, there will be a concert given by Tenby Male Choir at 8 pm. This will be a more formal event and tickets are available at £5 per head. This is the final event of the Flower Festival, but the chapel will be open all day Monday.
