Pictured after the annual general meeting of Saundersfoot and District Probus Club, which was held on January 14 at the Cambrian Hotel, is the new president for 2004, Mr. Geoffrey Stephens, along with past president Mr. Wilf Price, left, secretary Mr. Phillip Philo and right Mr. Mike Evans, treasurer.
The president gave a short resume of events and happenings during the past year and then thanked the officers, committee and members for their support during his time in office, before handing the presidency over to Mr. Stephens.
The new president then took the chair and in turn thanked the past president for his hard work during the past year. He noted that two new members had been recruited in 2003 and eight events had taken place other than the fortnightly meetings, notably a visit to Cardiff University Observatory, a car treasure hunt, a tour of Milford Haven waterway and the annual barbecue.
The secretary's report was not given due to his illness and hospitalisation, but members wish him well, and God speed in his recovery.
A caretaker secretary, Mr. Phil Philo, was appointed to take care of things for the time being.
Mr. Mike Evans then gave the treasurer's report, stating that the club was financially healthy with a small surplus in funds.
The election of officers for 2004 then took place. Elected were: Mr. Bob Delepech, vice-president; Mr. Mike Evans, treasurer; Mr. Philip Philo, caretaker secretary; and Mr. Bob Flute, membership secretary.
It was also agreed that membership subscriptions would remain at £5 for 2004.
There are still vacancies for new members. Anyone over 60 who is interested is invited to contact membership secretary Mr. Bob Flute on (01834) 811721.
