Saundersfoot Probus Club held their annual Christmas dinner at the Tudor Lodge hotel on Wednesday, December 12.

The guest list included the president of Saundersfoot Rotary Club, Mr. Norman Spence, and his wife. Members, wives and friends enjoyed a first class meal.

During speeches, the president of Saundersfoot Probus Club, Mr. James Morris, reminded members that it was back in 1989 that the Saundersfoot Rotary Club initiated the formation of Saundersfoot Probus Club. Present amongst the members was David Harley, the first president of the club. As it was the last function before the election of new officers to take over in January, the president thanked all officers and members for their extensive help throughout the year.

The club has had a very busy year of engagements, including visits to various venues, dining out together with wives and friends, and talks given by visiting speakers, as well as talks by members. The Saundersfoot Probus Club continues to provide a forum for retired or semi-retired people from Saundersfoot and district to discuss topics of mutual interest. External speakers are invited to give talks on a diverse range of subjects aimed at the interests of the members.

Meetings are held every second and fourth Wednesday in the month, in a convivial atmosphere at the Sports Club, Regency Hall, Saundersfoot. The club's activities include outings to places of interest, lunches etc., when wives and friends are invited to participate.

The club's fees are only £10 a year and a warm reception awaits any new members who would like to do something different in 2008 by joining an organisation geared to put that little extra excitement in their social life.

So don't forget, when you make your New Year resolutions, make it a must. Just ring James Morris (Penally) on 01834 842234 or John Parker (Reynalton) on 01834 891471.

It just remains for the president to wish you all a very joyous Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
