February 7 brought a slight increase to the number of Probians attending the meeting at Tenby Bowling Club (writes JK). It must have been the slight improvement in the weather!
There was one visitor, Mr. Ron Selby, who we believe intends to become a member shortly. There were eight apologies for absence and we were informed that Ray Heslinga was absent through illness.
Birthday boy of the month was Alf Carver who celebrated his birthday on February 11. Congratulations Alf.
In special events, the president reported on the luncheon at the Begelly Arms which was seemingly a great success and our ladies thoroughly enjoyed the venue and the meal. A suggestion was put forward that on May 30, which is a fifth Wednesday, there could possibly be an arts and craft morning at the Bowling Club and the president and his good lady would supply a buffet.
The '10 minute' speaker was Berwyn Jones who gave a very interesting account of a holiday he and his wife took in Tunisia and a visit to the Sahara. Well done Berwyn. I am sure there will be further adventures recounted at a later date.
In any other business, we were reminded of the quiz night at the Bowling Club and members were asked to try and form a team for entry.
After the raffle, the president closed the meeting and announced the next meeting as February 21.
