PAINTING an egg requires a great deal of patience and imagination and Netherwood pupil, 11-year-old Astrid Bowen is pictured with the winning entry at last Saturday's Welsh National Poultry Show, organised annually by the Dyfed Club.

Staged at the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society's superb Exhibition Hall, Haverfordwest, Astrid - whose home is at Owen Street, Pembroke - was showing a decorated egg produced by one of the family's Light Sussex hens.
