On Saturday, September 2, Pembroke Town Council and Pembroke Dock Town Council will jointly confer the Freedom of threir respective towns upon HMS Pembroke. The Freedom called Freedom of Entry is the highest honour a town can confer and it is in recognition of the bond of friendship that both towns have with HMS Pembroke.   The formal ceremony will be held in the grounds at Pembroke Castle followed by a parade through Main Street.   The salute will be taken at the Town Hall by the Mayor of Pembroke, Clr. Mrs. Mary Rose Blackburn. Following the parade, a joint Civic Service will be held at St. Michael's Church in Pembroke.   In the afternoon, there will be a parade in Pembroke Dock. The parade will step off from Albion Square along Bush Street and then into Laws Street en route to Lower Meyrick Street for the dispersal.   The salute will be taken at the Pater Hall by the Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Mrs. Susan Perkins.                                                            PROGRAMME

10.40 am: The parade, led by the Band of HMS Royal Marines followed by the ship's company of HMS Pembroke and contingents will step off from Pembroke Castle en route to St. Michael's Church. The salute will be taken at the Town Hall by the Mayor of Pembroke, Clr. Mrs. Mary Rose Blackburn. 11 am: Joint Civic Service at St. Michael's Church, Pembroke. Following the church service, the parade will reform and march back down Main Street to Pembroke Castle for dispersal. 1.40 pm: The parade will step off from Albion Square, Pembroke Dock, led by the Band of HM Royal Marines followed by the ships company of HMS Pembroke and contingents. They will march along Bush Street, into Law Street en route to Lower Meyrick Street for the dispersal. Clr. Mrs. Susan Perkins, Mayor of Pembroke Dock, will take the salute at the Pater Hall.
