The town’s very own ‘Original Tenby Gin’ picked up a prestigious award last week, competing with hundreds of thousands of entries from all over the world.

Charlotte Clark and John Mather who run The Cranny located on the resort’s High Street - specialising in selling all kinds of gin in conjunction with their sister company Pembrokeshire Gin Co, were awarded a Bronze medal by the IWSC (International Wine and Spirits Competition), which invites entries from all over the world.

The duo’s ‘Rosemary and Citrus’ gin which was recently rebranded and relaunched in a beautiful new bottle which really makes it stand out from others, was handed the accolade.

The relaunch at Imbibe in London last month, saw this particular gin shown to over 15,000 alcohol buyers, bloggers, sommeliers and bar owners from around the world.

“Only the very best producers who create exceptional, high quality products, are able to win a Medal by the IWSC, and whilst Tenby Gin isn’t currently distilled in Tenby (the distillery is based in Cardigan) the recipe was hand crafted by ourselves, with each bottle filled, labelled and hand waxed by us,” explained Charlotte.

“The competition is judged by the most elite and influential experts from all over the world, meaning this Bronze medal is a huge accolade for us, and it is almost unheard of, for a gin less than twelve months old, and from such a small company to be awarded an IWSC medal!” she added.
